How to Set the Torque of the Torque Limiter?
2023-11-09 15:00Torque limiter, also known as safety coupling, safety clutch, boom limiter, etc. It has the advantages of low price, simple structure, convenient disassembly and maintenance, fast response speed after overload, high torque setting accuracy, and long service life. Equipped with a microswitch, it can output electrical signals after overload, making it easy to alarm or automatically stop the motor. Widely used in the electronic equipment industry, automated production lines, conveyor industries, etc.
Many customers are not familiar with how to set the factory torque of the torque limiter. There are certain settings for the torque of the safety coupling.
First of all, we need to know how much torque value the transmission end needs to drive under normal working conditions.
For example, if the force required by the transmission end is 100Nm under normal working conditions, then generally the torque value set by our torque limiter is multiplied by a safety factor of 1.3-1.5 on this torque. If the mechanical speed is very fast, the safety factor can be increased. Some, on the contrary, if the speed is slower, the safety factor can be reduced accordingly.
